A Runner's High: Houston, we have takeoff

Things I've noticed about the Spanish people/culture

*Their sense of humor is very literal (and completely different from American or British humor)

*Cuss words are taken lightly

*Much time is spent on the present/the here and now

*Meals/food is a multi-hour ritual

*It's acceptable for children to talk back to their parents

*Slapping kids is an acceptable form of conservative discipline (discipline in itself is rare, but when it does occur it is usually much more physical than any law would allow in the US)

*They love to eat ham, meat in general, potatoes, rice, and bread

*They call you guapa in a complementary way no matter what time of day it is or what you look like
